Mobile Privacy Notice

IELTS International operates the IELTS AI Coach app for iOS and Android. This notice applies when you use the app, create an account, practise IELTS tasks, purchase access, or contact support.

IELTS International is an independent education service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the official IELTS organisations.

• Account data: name, email address, authentication provider, user ID, and profile settings. Passwords are handled by Supabase and are not visible to us.
• Learning content: answers, essay text, handwriting photos you choose from your photo library, speaking transcripts, scores, feedback, and progress.
• Speaking audio: microphone audio is transmitted for transcription and evaluation. It is processed transiently and is not retained by IELTS International; the resulting transcript may be saved with your practice history.
• Purchases: product, entitlement, transaction, renewal, and subscription status. Apple or Google processes your payment details; we do not receive your full card or bank details.
• Device and app activity: app version, device and operating-system information, language, feature interactions, diagnostics, and a device or analytics identifier if you consent to analytics.
• Notifications: notification preferences and a push token if you enable reminders.

Photo-library, microphone, and notification access is requested only when the related feature needs it. You can change these permissions in your device settings.

We use this data to authenticate you, provide and personalise practice, transcribe and evaluate submissions, preserve your progress, deliver purchases, send requested reminders, provide support, prevent abuse, keep the app reliable, and meet legal obligations.

Mobile product analytics is consent-based. Events recorded before your choice remain only in temporary device memory; they are sent only if you opt in and discarded if you decline. We do not use mobile app data for cross-app tracking and do not sell personal data.

• Supabase: authentication, database, and file storage.
• Apple and Google: sign-in, app distribution, and store payments.
• RevenueCat: purchase validation and entitlement management.
• AI and speech providers: submitted text, images or transcripts may be processed by providers such as Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, and Deepgram to provide OCR, transcription, scoring, and feedback. We do not intentionally send your name or email with practice content.
• PostHog: consent-based product analytics.
• Expo: app updates and push-notification delivery.
• Sentry: app error and reliability diagnostics.
• Vercel and Resend: service hosting and transactional email.

These providers process data under their own terms and privacy commitments.

Account and learning data is kept while your account is active so your history remains available. Speaking audio is not retained by us after processing. Push tokens are kept while notifications remain enabled. Billing and security records may be retained where required by law or needed to resolve fraud, disputes, and transactions.

You can permanently delete your account from Profile → Delete Accountin the app. You can also follow the public instructions on our account and data deletion page. Deletion removes account-linked content from active systems; limited records may be retained when law, security, or an unresolved transaction requires it.

Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, portability, deletion, restriction, or objection, and may withdraw consent. In the app, you can change analytics consent and notification preferences from Profile. Device permissions can be withdrawn in iOS or Android settings.

The app is not intended for children under 16. Data may be processed in countries other than your own where our providers operate, subject to appropriate safeguards where required. We use encrypted transport, access controls, and restricted database policies, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
