नियम और अपवाद
The College of Policing oversees recruitment standards for all 43 police forces in England and Wales. The Policing Education Qualifications Framework (PEQF) requires CEFR B2+ English proficiency for all police constable entry routes — Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP), Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA), and pre-join degree.
Non-UK candidates need a Skilled Worker visa (where eligible). The visa requires IELTS for UKVI at CEFR B1 minimum — but police recruitment processes include written assessments, scenario exercises, and competency interviews that demand fluency well above this threshold.
Metropolitan Police, West Midlands Police, and Greater Manchester Police have historically recruited internationally during officer shortage periods. Check individual force career pages for current international recruitment rounds.
