Tips for Meeting the Requirement
- 1Warwick requires IELTS 7.0 overall with asymmetric minimums: 6.0 in Listening, 6.5 in Reading, 6.5 in Writing, and 6.0 in Speaking. Note the higher requirements in Reading and Writing.
- 2Writing at 6.5 is particularly important for PhD applications. Practice producing coherent academic arguments, as your doctoral work will require extensive written output.
- 3Warwick's slightly lower thresholds in Listening (6.0) and Speaking (6.0) give you room to focus more preparation time on Reading and Writing if those are your weaker areas.
