IELTS Speaking Score Estimator
IELTS Speaking is a face-to-face interview scored by a trained examiner against four criteria. Like Writing, there is no raw-score conversion — your score comes from how you perform across three parts of the test.
The Four Assessment Criteria
Fluency & Coherence
Can you speak at length without noticeable effort? Band 7+ requires willingness to speak at length, with only occasional repetition or self-correction.
Lexical Resource
Vocabulary range and flexibility. Band 7+ requires paraphrasing effectively and using less common and idiomatic vocabulary with some awareness of style.
Grammatical Range & Accuracy
Frequent use of complex structures with some flexibility. Band 7+ produces error-free sentences frequently, though some grammar errors may persist.
Pronunciation
Range of pronunciation features including stress, rhythm, and intonation. Band 7+ can be understood throughout with only occasional mispronunciation.
Speaking has no conversion table. The examiner scores you 0–9 on each criterion during the 11–14 minute interview.
